COMMUNITY SERVICE

Members of the AFWA Music City Chapter participate in Community Service Projects throughout the year.

Financial Literacy Training - Members of the AFWA Music City chapter support financial literacy efforts by sharing the FDIC Money Smart program with local non-profit organizations. We started the training in February of 2013 with The Next Door, an organization dedicated to assisting women after incarceration and/or drug recovery programs.

Visit the FDIC website for more information on the Money Smart training materials and consumer credit news.

Each November, our chapter has a team of members participate in the Viva la Diva 5k. This annual event benefits Fifty Forward and the YWCA.

Each December our chapter selects a local nonprofit organization to present during our monthly meeting and talk to our members about the work being done in our community. All proceeds from the December meetings go to the charity. Participants in recent years have included The Next Door, Fifty Forward, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Second Harvest Food Bank.

Our chapter is always seeking new opportunities to serve the community.
